In 2001 Newtonhill Primary School netball team was about to be disbanded when their coach moved abroad. Two mums, who had never played netball, decided to try to help. They managed to find a coach, with a talent for nurturing and encouraging young players and from there a new club was born. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength and now has over 70 members.

Our coaches (past & present) have successfully led the club to several ADNA league wins and Scottish cup U15 and U17 semi-finals. Over the years, almost 60 girls have been chosen for the Aberdeen District squad and a player has been selected for the Scotland U17 squad.

Our coaches have been awarded ADNA’s Coach of the Year and Umpire of the Year titles. Other awards include Sportscotland's Grampian Young Volunteer of the Year and the club has been shortlisted for Aberdeenshire Sports Council's Team of the Year title.

The club tries to recruit coaches from within and players are encouraged to help coach the younger teams. Attendance at training courses for both coaching and umpiring is also supported.

At Newtonhill, our primary aim is to create a supportive, fun and safe environment for all players to participate in netball.
